Jacob uses his experience and training in movement and Physical Theatre to inform his work as a movement director. He takes pleasure in translating the subconscious essence of the human experience into physical movement, effectively telling stories and forging connections with audiences through the unique power of this visual art form.
His training while largely focused on Lecoq’s pedagogy encompasses Grotowski, Laban, Suzuki, Corporeal Mime, neutral and expressive mask, puppetry and animal studies. This eclectic combination of practices allows his work to have a distinct and contemporary feeling.
He is well experienced in teaching movement in a variety of settings and disciplines and it continues to form the backbone of his work as a director.
Jacobs work as Movement Director has been described as “a visual treat for audiences” and that he “weaves movement miraculously into a narrative”
